FAQ
What is Planet Pop?
Planet Pop is a free geography game about naming countries on a spinning toy globe. It is an endless run with timed questions, star scoring, hearts and cards
Is Planet Pop free?
Yes, Planet Pop is free to play in your browser, and no account is needed
Is Planet Pop a daily puzzle?
No, Planet Pop uses endless runs rather than a daily puzzle. A run continues until you lose all your hearts
How do I answer a question?
Read the clue and theme, tap a country on the globe, then press Lock or Enter before the timer ends
How many countries can I choose?
The globe has 197 selectable countries. Other atlas features are shown as territories and cannot be picked
How many questions and themes are there?
The question bank has 200 questions across 15 themes
Do questions repeat during a run?
Questions do not repeat until the bank has been used up. The same theme does not appear twice in a row
How many hearts do I get?
A run starts with three hearts and can hold up to five. A wrong answer or timeout costs one heart, and the run ends at zero
How long is each question?
The timer starts at 30 seconds and loses one second after every five right answers, down to 15 seconds. It pauses when the tab is hidden and during reveals and card drafts
How does scoring work?
Answer tiers are worth 10, 20, 30 or 50 base stars. Question difficulty and streak multiply that value, card effects can modify it, and the final total is rounded
What do the cards do?
After every right answer, choose one of three different cards. Instant cards apply now, hints go in a pocket with up to three slots, and charms stay active for the run
Can I skip a question?
The Skip hint passes the current question without losing a heart and keeps your streak
Can I play on a phone?
Yes, the globe supports touch controls. Swipe to spin, pinch to zoom, tap a country, then lock it in
What language is the game in?
The game interface and questions are in English
Is Planet Pop the same as Farflung?
No. Planet Pop is an independent game at farflung.earth and is not affiliated with Farflung
